Schaublin Machines SA lends to the Alinghi Team, and this until the end of the races (around July 2008), one of its last novelty, the High Precision lathe Schaublin Machines SA 225 Plus, destined to the production of main and very precise parts of its boat, parts being often special material which is very hard to grind. This lathe ally high precision, flexibility and reliability, as well as all necessary ingredients for a judicious use. It should be noted that the Alinghi Team owns a mobile mechanical workshop that follows the Team during races all over the world.

This partnership come into operation as of may 1st 2004 and will ends 1 year after the last final race, namely around July 2008.
